Gender Action Plan in 3D Repertoire

All of the partners operate a policy of non-discrimination against employing women. The most recent gender survey revealed that 47% and 53% are the percentages which represent women and men, respectively, involved in 3D Repertoire. 32% of the group leaders are women.

3D Repertoire would like to continue to promote the active participation of women within the project, mainly through the following actions:

  1. Maintain awareness of gender issues, thorough workshops and relevant links (see below).
  2. Support and encourage networking among women scientists. In particular, the female group leaders of 3D Repertoire agreed to mentor young scientists who want to pursue a scientific career.
  3. Establishment of 3 prizes”(2,500&Euro;/each), which will be assigned to 3D Repertoire female pre/postdocs, from February 2007 until the end of the project (August 2009). This financial support can be used to top-up the salary of a technician, who is already in place in the lab and will work on the scientist project, under her supervision. Alternatively, the support can be assigned to pay babysitting help to allow the scientist to actively go back to her project. This action will support, in case of maternity, young female scientists who want to pursue a research career, while being able to bring up a family. The prizes will also be open to male scientists, who need to actively support their young family.
